VISION

Phoenix Military Academy seeks to develop young people to become citizens of leadership with extraordinary character and a clear vision for success in post secondary education at major universities, colleges, and top service academies.

The staff of Phoenix Military Academy will promote student development in five (5) areas of focus:

Phoenix Military Academy “Ideal Graduate”

Leadership: The world draws upon the leaders of today to create the foundation of the future. The Phoenix Military Academy “Ideal Graduate” is a student that:

  • is able to accomplish a mission with a sense of direction to accomplish personal and organizational goals.
  • is able to influence others to accomplish difficult tasks by providing a purpose, motivation, and direction.
  • embodies the principles of disciplined leadership to prepare for life after high school as a successful contributor to society in one’s chosen role.

Character: Life after high school brings many opportunities, but also many responsibilities. The Phoenix Military Academy “Ideal Graduate” is a student that:

  • as self-efficacy, empathy, compassion, pride, and respect for oneself and others.
  • develops a code of ethics, comparing the values it represents with the national values defined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
  • embodies the principles of integrity and responsibility in one’s actions to prepare one to succeed in life.

Citizenship: A chief responsibility in life after graduation is the contribution to the United States and the global society. The Phoenix Military Academy “Ideal Graduate” is a student that:

  • understands the importance of freedom, one’s role as a human being, and is aware of school, community, national, and global issues.
  • participates to the maximum extent possible in civic life and fulfills one’s duties and responsibilities as a citizen.
  • conducts oneself in a manner consistent with school policies to prepare for the lifelong task of citizenship.

Service: Self-development and one’s role in developing others can be attained through service. The Phoenix Military Academy “Ideal Graduate” is a student that:

  • is aware of one’s personal responsibility to contribute, change, and make a difference to others, to one’s community, and to society.
  • renders meaningful volunteer service to one’s community, city, state, and country.
  • embodies the spirit of service to prepare oneself to be a contributing member of one’s community.

Academics: Academic achievement creates the foundation for the skills necessary to succeed in life after high school. The Phoenix Military Academy “Ideal Graduate” is a student that:

  • understands the relevance of education and its connection to having a better quality of life, career goals, and to contributing to society.
  • is ready to succeed in post-secondary education.
  • embodies an educational and intellectual rigor to prepare oneself to accomplish the familiar and unfamiliar tasks one will face in life.

At Phoenix Military Academy, we follow the Chicago Pubic Schools, Student Development Model, which encompasses the three pillars of Social/Emotional, Community and Service Learning, and Post-Secondary Development. We strongly believe that by following this model, we help to develop the student in a holistic manner resulting in what we believe is the “Ideal Graduate.”
