Winners of the Golden Apple Award receive:
- A paid spring-term sabbatical to study tuition free at Northwestern University
- Recognition on a one-hour WTTW/Channel 11 prime-time TV program in September 2010.
- Induction into the prestigious Golden Apple Academy
- An award of $3,000
